Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) is an immigration benefit for children in the US who have suffered abuse, neglect or abandonment by one or both parents.  A finding of eligibility for SIJS may allow an abused, neglected or abandoned child to petition for permanent residence in the United States.
